@tracy_tysonmd: Great question from one of you: population data tells us vaccines don’t cause autism — but how do we assess an individual child’s diagnosis? The honest answer has two parts. First, we use specific causality criteria: Is it biologically plausible? Is the timing right? Is there another explanation? Are there similar cases? This is exactly why reporting systems like VAERS matter — they let us catch signals we’d otherwise miss, even seemingly unrelated ones. If those criteria don’t point to causation, that’s where population data comes back in. If vaccinated kids had more developmental delays than unvaccinated kids, we’d know by now — because we’re always monitoring.
