Let me clarify this. Gel polish is generally safe however there are some ingredients that have been known to cause gel allergies overtime due to repeated exposure. The reason for banning HEMA/TPO is to minimise gel NOT cancer. Getting cancer from getting your nails done is almost impossible, but if you expose your skin and nails to poor unprofessional practices, expose your skin to bleaching and low quality nail products, low quality nail lamps, you increase your chances of exposure. TPO is the ingredient that's responsible for your gel drying when you put under the lamp. So it's been replaced in Europe and all gel brands must have European Union Certification. In Uganda, those gels are still widely in circulation because there are no regulations. We have been stocking HEMA free gels since 2022 and HEMA/TPO free gels since 2024.

I used to do gellnails but my nails weakened and their were too sensitive, I nolonger do my nails.

TPO and HEMA, these are not generally products but photoinitiatirs(ingredients) that boost drying under Uv light and give better retention. WERE restricted in the GB and banned in Europe this was 09/2025, wakafuna amawulire but the way u emphasizing as if!?!. Anyway let's not mislead people give the right info as it is, Let's educate not cause panic THANKS
