@lordknows_madugu: Teachers are struggling. Cabounu could have done more - Dr. Tutu Boahene, UTAG Vice Prez, UEW #fyp #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #fypシ゚viral #fypシ
Dr. Angel Carbonu, with all due respect, defending teachers’ salaries by comparing them to what a TV presenter earns does not address the real issue. The question is whether teachers are being paid fairly for the work they do and whether their salaries allow them to live a decent life.
Teachers are struggling. Many teachers cannot afford decent accommodation, a reliable car, or even some basic necessities without taking loans. So telling teachers that they are “well paid” does not reflect the reality many of them experience every day.
The presenter raised a legitimate concern, and instead of addressing the point, he was rather attacking the presenter. teacher union leaders should listen to the frustrations of their members. Union leaders are supposed to represent teachers and negotiate for their welfare, not simply defend every agreement reached with government.
There is also a growing perception among teachers that some union leaders become too comfortable with government and sometimes compromise during negotiations. If teachers believe that their interests are being sacrificed during negotiations, the leadership must take that concern seriously and be transparent about how decisions are made.
Dr. Carbonu, you have been a leader of a teacher union, so you know better than most people that teachers are not asking for luxury. They are asking for fair salaries, better conditions of service, and leadership that will genuinely fight for their welfare.
The problem is not whether a teacher earns more or less than a TV presenter. The real question is: Are Ghanaian teachers being paid what they deserve for the important work they

Teachers have to pay between 1500 - 4000 to District Directors before transfer is approved. Angel Cabounu is hypocrite. They going to lead teacher unions for their personal interest but not the teachers interest. I'm highly disappointed in him.

Don't mind him guys. I taught in Ghana for 11 years and I had to drive taxi to support my family. Am teaching in another country now for just a year and I have two SUV's. They're all working for governments.

The dues that we pay every month, they should give us partial withdrawal so that we can use it to do something like business or project work like building of house.

I really don't understand why teachers have to pay 14% annual interest on loans from their own unions. They should be given a much lower rate so they can actually use the money for their development.

The most painful part is that teachers can never buy an asset without taking out a loan. Not even one. If they go for workshops, all you see are bikes and okada.

The painful part is most of the policians were teachers ooo,but when they get to the top, they don't care about teachers anymore and use the excuse that teachers are many forgetting that if they treat teachers well, they can win power because of their numbers

God bless you Boss. Our leaders are selfish. They can buy a car every 3 months but teachers even 30 years. Some of the teachers are empty to the extent that they keep supporting these leaders
