Yes, she's tough and set on getting justice and revenge. But is she also self deprecating and sarcastic with a warped dark sense of humor, but misses her mom? Absolutely. And somehow that always makes her FMC's more relatable. And I can't decide who my favorite animal companion/ familiar is in her books, because Squire, Zora's tiny talking Pigmy owl might be at the top. I never thought the time would come where I would cackle hearing an owl scream, "spider slut!" Tarantula might be one of the most unique characters that l've come across in a long time! And the banter between him and Zora is top tier. Mas always does fantastic job of throwing plot twists and punches to the gut that you know are coming, you just have no idea what or how.
