I'm a cis woman who NEEEEEEEEEDS Gender Affirming Care after a hysterectomy a couple of years ago. Without estrogen supplements I am a complete hormonal, emotional mess. Gender Affirming Care saves my life (for real). G.A.C. should ABSOLUTELY be available for trans folks the way it's just as available for cis people.

Yes but cis ppl aren’t doing these things to improve symptoms of gender dysphoria/incongruence as trans ppl are. The idea of gender affirmation as a wider embodied experience that we all share some part of makes sense, but it’s crucial to understand that these interventions (hormones, SRS, FFS) have been well studied to affect trans people specifically by alleviating their dysphoria, which destroys and can end people’s lives. Dysphoria may not be the whole of what gender affirming care can improve, but it is a significant and well studied part.

The things you’re describing aren’t really “gender-affirming” so much as gender-specific. There’s a difference between affirming someone’s identity and simply acknowledging or recognizing biological reality. You don’t need to “affirm” something that is already an actuality.
