I just feel like we’re all so hard and critical of each other these days and don’t hold space for each other to grow and better ourselves in relationships

also emotional maturity is not an inherent trait, it takes effort to unlearn certain behaviours

I’m naturally intimate. When they can’t be intimate without it becoming sexual, I know they aren’t emotionally intelligent.
I have deep, personal conversations on a regular basis. When they’re scared to ask me about a word I said, and I have to ask them, “Do you know what I mean, or should I give you the definition?” because it gets awkwardly silent or their eyes look like they’re somewhere else during the deep conversation, I know they aren’t capable.
When I have to remind them more than twice that we’re taking things slow and that I cannot come to their house or spend the night, that tells me something.
When I communicate that I have emotional conversations and they break down or can’t handle them because it’s hard for them to open up, I know they aren’t ready.
When they can’t read between the lines of a verbal, emotional conversation and think it isn’t a soft subject simply because I’m not crying, I know they aren’t emotionally aware.
When they can’t reflect on a conversation and articulate their thoughts, that’s when I know they aren’t ready for anyone—or for me.
And when they compare extreme situations to simple ones, that also tells me they lack the emotional awareness I need.

You only find out how they feel AFTER you take initiative😭😭 they can know the relationship doesn’t make sense/needs space but will still get upset when distance gets created. They get upset for boundaries being created but refused to set their own boundaries

YOU ATE when you said "And now you're playing the same role that they play with themselves, which ironically is how they interpret emotional maturity." A complete WORD. 💗

The most important lesson I've gotten from this page as a healing people pleaser is everything starts with thy self, agency always!! real healing started only when I held myself accountable first💯

You should get paid for this. It’s like you know and can articulate the situation I am dealing with. People think that speaking your mind alone is maturity. Those people don’t realize they are simultaneously entitled, controlling and harmful. those are the same people who can’t stand when someone also speaks their mind to them. Emotional maturity isn’t just dishing it out it’s also holding space to take what someone else is communicating. I have a situation with someone who demands access to me, and says I’m emotionally immature because I refuse to give them access. That it isn’t compatible. Meanwhile if this was vice versa, I would be understanding of someone’s choice to not want to be in my life. Aka holding space for them and their choices, interpretations etc. anyone can display anger not everyone can respect the choices of others. It’s so deep and of course you explain it better but wow THISSSS is the video (as I say that for the 5th time I’ve seen your videos lol)

well said! such a complex thing to navigate especially on top of other issues. i have asd so changes and transitions are really hard for me to cope with at first, sometimes i just need to cry and express it but also communicate im not trying to change the situation or make someone feel they have to do anything, i just need to get it out so i can regulate myself (healthily ofc)

I work with so many people that act like this, I've also realized that emotional immature people take away things from you when you stop feeding into them and they refuse to look within themselves
