I canceled and went to Aardvark. I just subbed there today. BOTM has been driving me up a wall for months. They stopped letting me choose add-ons and they are always better than the main picks! Having to pay $3 for a colored sprayed edge, even on my free birthday month is also dumb.

I switched to Aardvark a year ago because BOTM had just been always letting me down, and I've never skipped a box. I think I only had 1 month of a single book. They just have such amazing choices

The add-ons have been better than the selections for like the last year. I want them to go back to the days when you could pick ANY book if you didn’t like the selections. This whole five random “members faves” option pisses me off

I think it’s the shipping fee problem since they do free shipping with there botm that’s probably why they need you to buy the botm before you add on so that your shipping fee is covered.

I'm getting frustrated with the monthly picks being mid and the things I want to read being add-ons. It feels like their plan is to have you go for a two book minimum knowing people will get a monthly pick to get access to the add-on(s), but honestly? I feel like the skip button is just getting a workout and they're going to get more cancellations.

Some of the add ons sold out so quickly this month and I spent too long to pick a normal pick because I wasn’t sure about them. Wretched Divine is predicted to be in the Fairyloot box soon so I didn’t want that.

I just signed up for the $5 deal and it let me pick Dead Beat as my (only) choice. that’s so goofy they won’t let you do it as an established customer!

I had BotM for awhile and feel the exact same way. I switched over to Aardvark about a year ago and have loved it. I find myself liking multiple books. They have way better fantasy, sci-fi, and horror selections.

Have you checked the member faves? You can also use that as a BOTM main pick. I find myself doing that a lot recently (although I usually end up liking them!)
