Is your boiler telling you it has low pressure? Don’t know what to do? Don’t worry, with the easy steps bought to you by BOXT, the smart way to buy a boiler, you can fix it! Locate the pressure gauge, usually on the front of your boiler. Check the pressure gauge. The needle should sit between 1-1.5 bars when the system is cold, and up to 2 bar when the boiler is in use. If it falls below it needs re-pressurising. Look for any visible leaks around your boiler or radiators. If you find one, call a professional before re-pressurising. If your boiler is on, turn it off and let the system cool. Top up the pressure using the filling loop, filling key or filling link (refer to your boiler manual to find out which you have) and watch the pressure gauge rise. Don’t overfill - too much pressure can damage the system. Once it reaches 1-1.5 bar, close the valves and restart the boiler, then check everything is working properly.
