They should not be compared no comparison apart from two different events that had a different number of arrests never been to this carnival personally but people will drink forget themselves traveling from different cities and contries a lot of walking and needing the loo if not near portoloos. I agree that people should be respectul of peoples properties and contol their own behaviour. Carnival historically is known to be a little messy because its a big party event.

It doesn't matter who's event it is, it's all down to common decency and manners. Don't get drunk. Take your litter home with you. Use the public toilets. Never carry any weapons. Don't get mad with anyone. Simple. If everyone can manage that, the world would be a better place.

Once a year in the Netherlands we celebrate what is called the Kings Day. Hundreds of thousands of people if not millions celebrate. Nothing like the catastrophe you mentioned happens here.

I used to go Notting Hill years ago I'm now 68years old you would not see me there for love or money as long as I'm breathing fresh air on this planet these young boys and girls they make me stick to the stomach personally if I had my way I'd shut the place down was it last year or the year before that young girl with her daughter lost her life for no reason at all

One event was full of people partying drinking taking god knows what and was full of kids and the UTK thing looked liked mainly adults. Kids haven't leaned how to behave properly yet.

So a comparison of two events. Numbers are a good focus. Arrests should speak for itself. Nottinghill Carnival has been an event that l can remember as happening once a year. Given cult status. Revered colourful photo shoots. And paragraphs describing assaults, robberies, theft and arrests. 🤔
