@saltsugarandstories: Good Morning, y’all, and HAPPY SEPTEMBER! 🍂🤎 I’ve been up since 5:00 this morning, and somewhere around 7:00 I decided I needed a biscuit. Now y’all know good and well, I ain’t about to make a biscuit from scratch! 😂 But I found these Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table frozen biscuits at the grocery store and said, “Yes ma’am. YES MA’AM, I will do that.” 👍🏻 When I was putting them in the oven I decided I would eat them the way I did at the children’s home. For all the bad things you’ve read or heard about that place, the one thing they did was feed us WELL. Saturday mornings meant sleeping late and then a huge breakfast… cathead biscuits, gravy, eggs, grits, sausage, bacon, butter, syrup… ALL OF IT. Every girl that was sent to the home had to stay a year. Parents signed them over for a year or Bro Mack wouldn’t take them. He believed it would take that long to “rehabilitate” them and get them on the path to becoming“Godly young women and men”. And after a year, almost every girl had gained weight! lol We couldn’t do a whole lot back then. We hooked rugs, read our Bibles and ate. 😂 Funny how one little biscuit can take you somewhere you haven’t been in a very long time. So here’s to September. 🍂 My favorite season is almost here. There’s just something about fall that feels romantic and sweet and cozy and GOOD. If I could make it perpetually fall, I surely would. Happy September, y’all.
