@jakubowsk1: Proof that God is real and exists | The Leibnizian Contingency Argument #god #proof #christianity #religion #atheism @⋆。˚𝐲𝐮𝐫𝐢₊˚♪ 🏴 The Leibnizian Theory explained in an easy way (I wrote it myself): I. Contigent and Neccesary Beings Contingent being: something that exists but could have failed to exist. Neccessary being: something that cannot fail to exist Example: You are contingent. You exist, but you could have never existed. II. Everything that exists has an explanation If something exists there must be some reason or explanation for why it exists rather than not existing. For contingent things, that explanation cannot simply be the thing itself, because it doesn't have to exist. III. The universe is contingent The universe exists, but it could have been different or could have failed to exist. Therefore, the universe needs an explanation for why it exists. IV. The explanation cannot be another contingent thing forever If the explanation is another contingent thing, then that thing also needs an explanation. You could have: A --> B --> C --> D --> ... But simply having an endless chain of contingent explanations does not provide an ultimate explanation for why the whole chain exists. Therefore, there must ultimately be something that does not depend on another contingent thing for its existence. V. A neccessary being exists There must be a neccessary being whose existence does not depend on something else. This neccessary being provides the ultimate explanation for why contingent reality exists. VI. Why identify the neccessary being with God? The neccessary foundation must have attributes that fit God such as being uncaused, independent, eternal and the ultimate explanation of everything contingent. So, very simply: Contingent things exist -> contingent things need an explanation -> the explanation cannot consist only of contingent things -> there must be a neccessary being -> God.

This sucks tbh, no hate but the same could be said for the big bang

I mean it's debatable if the Universe could have failed to exist or be different.

The big bang didn’t ‘create’ the universe, the big bang was just stuff in the universe moving outwards from a central point

Two problems: 1) not all scientists even agree that the universe was created. The big bang just describes the expansion of the universe. It could’ve existed in a hot, dense state for infinite time before its expansion like how you believe god existed for an infinite time before the universe. 2) even if the universe was created by a god, why do you say this god has to be the one from the bible? It could be Allah, it could be Brahma, it could be Waheguru, it could be Odin, or it could be a god that we don’t even know about because the earth was formed 4 billion years ago by gravity and the god that created the universe had nothing to do with our creation. At best, your argument ends in agnosticism, yet you make the biased and unjustified jump to Christianity.

why does it have to be Christian God? why not a Hindu God?

Im an athiest but there are many flaws with this argument, 1) the big bang is a theory meaning that this argument is false already. 2) why does the universe need a creator and not god.

so what's the explanation of god existing, u guys love saying "everything that exists needs a creator", God?

the argument assumes the psr, however the psr is not a universal axiom. also, just because every part of the universe is contigent does not mean the universe is contigent

Time isn’t proven to have a beginning btw and by technicality nor does space yes the universe began to exist but that doesn’t mean time or space began to exist

But what’s stopping god from being contingent?Secondly of all there is a theory that suggests the universe is enternal where it is constantly making a big bang expand shrink compact and repeat there may be hundreds of universes before us and infinite after us

well firstly it's not like we atheists/agnostics think that the big bang "came from nothing" like is often believed but rather that we aren't sure what was before. now obviously you can say that this thing was god but you can just as well say that this thing was something entirely different. also the idea of the big bang theory goes against what the bible tells which is why arguing with it should go against Christian values since it would concede that the bible in it's telling of creation was wrong.

isnt this just the cosmological argument? its always "the universe cant exist on its own because everything needs a reason" and you say that god is an exception, so there can be exceptions, and how do you know its your god the right one? my point is that the cosmological argument is outdated, debunkable in so many ways

why does the universe have an explanation? like i think it always existed and will always exist

Hello!! Atheist here.
You used Jaw's argument, didn't you? Anyways, i'll take you to quantum mechanics.
I agree, the universe is contingent. The big bang is too. Let's go to what actually the necessary being is...
What we call "nothing" or "vacuum" actually is a quantum vacuum. It is bound by the laws of physics and it contains fields, spacetime and potential energy. Precisely it bubbles with temporary energy shiftsm. Our universe originated as a spontaneous energy fluctuation that triggered an explosive period of rapid growth known as cosmic inflation. So, actually, what we call "nothing" or "vacuum" (it's never really empty tho) is the necessary being!!
No offense intended, I believe we should all treat eachother with respect.
