@lifewithwendylee: Sometimes life gives us incomplete information, and apparently my brain would prefer to fill in the missing pieces rather than leave a question unanswered. 😂 Something doesn't happen when I expect it to, something changes or I simply don't know what's coming next, and suddenly I'm several steps ahead trying to figure out what it all means. The interesting part is how quickly one uncertain thing can change what I'm paying attention to. Life can be genuinely good. There can be people I love, things I'm excited about, beautiful experiences happening around me and plenty to be grateful for, while one unresolved situation quietly starts taking up more and more of the view. So I've been bringing myself back to the questions. What do I actually know right now? What am I adding because I don't have all the information yet? What else could be true? And then one I don't think I've asked often enough: What is still good while I don't know? I like that question because it doesn't ask me to ignore something that needs my attention or convince myself that everything will work out exactly the way I want it to. It just reminds me to look around. Whatever I'm waiting to understand is happening inside a much larger life, and that life doesn't stop being good simply because one part of it is uncertain. Perhaps gratitude and curiosity work particularly well together here. Curiosity keeps me from deciding I already know how the story ends, while gratitude keeps me aware of everything else that's happening while I wait to find out. And for today, I think that's enough.
