7 week post below the knee amputation update. I apologize it isn’t like my usual videos. It’s not humorous, it’s not fun, it’s not positive or uplifting or inspiring. Just honesty and more vulnerability than I am used to. I feel uncomfortable even uploading this but I think it’s really important to show truthfulness and full disclosure about this. I’ve watched so many inspirational amputee videos and although it’s great to have some hope for the distant future when I can finally get going on a prosthetic- it feels so f’ing isolating when you’re bed bound like 23 hours a day with no one being open about the horrible feelings that come along with this in this stage of healing. The loss of dignity and independence and chronic pain that feels like a limb that isn’t even there is being crushed and electrocuted and twisted back and forth by nerves. I don’t suspect much of anyone to watch this all the way through but I hope it can maybe reach maybe a couple recent amputees or future amputees and make them feel a little less alone when this phase comes along 🖤 #amputee #ewingsarcoma #cancerfighter
