Work for a dollar and it gets taxed at the top rate, plus payroll tax, with almost nothing to deduct. Own something that pays you a dollar and it gets taxed lower, sometimes not at all for years. Same dollar. Different rules. That's not a loophole you were too dumb to find. That's the design. I was a social worker, so I earned every dollar the hardest-taxed way there is.
