Mel had the same type of conversation w/ Bea. She uses fake vulnerability to disarm and get to know the girls she beefs with. Idk how ppl dont see wat is going on.

I’m sorry, her bringing up the personal issues Sol told her about IN CONFIDENCE to show that she was nice to her is NASTY!!!

Her apology was manipulation. She was just trying to get SOL to be her friend so she would inevitably step off Sincere

Yes I agree! The conversation with Kenzie felt weird too. It felt like she attacked until she got her to cry, and then switched up and said it isn’t that real/I love you/let me get you dinner etc.

Mel was SO ready to weaponize Sol’s trendy “mama happy” against her. That was a big gesture alone because you know Mel has been seeing the popularity of that phrase

finally an educated take on it. i know sol hasn’t moved right either, but it’s a reach to say that she wasn’t treated differently than other girls on the show.

Are we gonna ignore how she was basically begging people to believe her that she didn’t know it was Corbin but then she just straight up admitted she knew 💀 is that gaslighting or am I tweaking

Felt this same thing with the Kenzie convo — saying “im your best friend, but your not mine” has to be one of the most hurtful responses you can say to someone even if its true it’s so self centered and mean

I hated the sol vulnerable scene cause they didn’t add it on as a way of understanding and feeling for sol, but as a win for Melanie

She used the same script in her conversation with kenzie. Telling her its not a big deal and its not that deep after ripping her to shreds for like 8 minutes. It was a wild turnaround

Is funny because she said all those support words and then she says “ I got my man back “

I am ASTONISHED that so many people didn’t realize Mel was using the fact that SOL confided in her about her dad and homeless. And I quote, “Remember you told me about YOUR DAD, and homelessness,” as a reminder of not only her struggles and vulnerability, but about the fact I got something on you. The fact that they rolled the clip for Mel, but not SOL told me everything I need to know.

I’m by no means a Melanie apologist but I do think you’re misrepresenting or maybe misremembering their conversation here. Melanie did comfort Sol and went in to hug her after Sol shared her father passed. She only said the part about LA being expensive after Sol shared about the hours she works to live by herself. When she said the 2 to tango part she was actually very clearly referring to Sincere specifically having a part in this and driving the dynamic not Sol. I also think something you may be missing is a cultural aspect and emphasis on caretaking that is common in Latin and Black households specifically with women, which I think informs her promise to make sure Sol never had to worry about being homeless again. Although this is a shortsighted assertion from Melanie’s part I really don’t think it displays the manipulation tactics you’re alluding to. I appreciate your content and you’re obviously very informed but I do think it’s important to be very diligent and careful how you represent these situations especially with the Stan wars and wildly parasocial behaviors that these reality stars find themselves in

also, if Melanie wanted to empathize with Sol, she could have also told her that she was also homeless aswell (she mentioned this in an article) but Melanie wanted to put herself above Sol

I’m not saying this is a bad take because I really respect most of your assessments, but I think it is very one sided to only evaluate Melanie’s side of the situation without delving into the motives behind why Sol would be trauma dumping on Melanie in the first place and how that can be pretty overwhelming to take on for someone you aren’t particularly close to. Also, Sol’s overall energy towards Melanie as well while she was in pursuit of Sincere. I think an important take away that I don’t see anyone speak on is Sol’s admittance that she is closed off due to her previous trauma. I think it’s clear that the girls both had weird energy towards each other in the beginning. But I think that Sol’s perception of her “experience” is largely shaped through the lens of unhealed trauma that causes her to be closed off. She’s comfortable being a victim.
