Growing up, I never believed being a singer songwriter was possible for me. I really struggled with extreme shyness nd lack of confidence, I used to want to hide at the back of the classrooms and had a real fear of talking to people. Getting up on a stage and singing was out of the question. I was also told I wasn’t good at music. But despite all of this, I knew deep down, it was what I wanted to do. The dream had been given to me when I was a little girl. For my whole life I was afraid to tell people about my dream. I was scared of being laughed at or judged, thinking other people thought I should pursue an ‘academic’ path. So it stayed quietly inside of me and the years went on and I didn’t do anything about it. But in 2022, after going through a tough time with anxiety and problems with my eye, I decided to go for it. Starting from scratch and learning how to sing, learning how to write songs, playing guitar, piano, performing in front of people and building my confidence. I felt behind but I was so determined to make it happen. This journey has been extraordinary and I often think to myself if I hadn’t have had the courage to decide one day in 2022 ‘I think I’m going to start taking singing lessons’, all of this never would have happened. I’m so grateful to that girl who decided to go for it 🥹 I hope you know that you can achieve so much more than you think you can 🤍 It’s never too late to start something new and you don’t have to be naturally talented at something to become good at it. You can learn the skills. You can practise. You can improve. Hard work can create the talent you thought you needed to have from the start. Thank you for being on this journey with me.
