@lindseybosway: As I’ve shared before, knowing we would eventually sleep train is part of what allowed me to be so relaxed about sleep those first four months. I nursed him when he woke up. I rocked him. I soaked it in. I reminded myself over and over that babies just do baby stuff on those really hard nights before he was ready to learn to self soothe. I knew I could make a change if I needed to when I met my max with sleep deprivation. I know how heavy sleep deprivation can feel and how much sleep matters for a moms mental health. I’m sharing our experience because sometimes it helps to hear a positive story. It’s okay if this choice looks different in your house. This has been such a positive one in ours 🤍 #MomsofTikTok #momlife #motherhood #4monthsold

Girl my 18 month old has never slept through the night. You better believe our Dec baby is getting sleep trained. Did you use taking Cara babies?

What made me feel good about sleep training is someone said “we have to teach them to talk, walk, play, smile, etc., so why wouldn’t we have to teach them how to sleep too?”

I think that’s what bothers me most is that people think it’s shut the door and leave. I literally did 1 min check ins until my kids went to sleep while sleep training. First night took an hour then ten min the next night!

Ok first how do you put them down awake? My baby always falls asleep while nursing. Doesn’t matter what time it is. Also how do you know they weren’t actually hungry at night?

I LOVE how you presented this. So much misunderstanding around sleep training. So happy for you!

We did this with my 4mo old this weekend too! I’d reached my limit with his regression. Went from wake ups every few hours to sleeping 7-7 and it took us ONE challenging hour and the next 5 nights required at most one check in

We got through three nights of Ferber so far and I swear my baby is happier and cuddlier. She is finally getting longer stretches of sleep!

My girl will be 4 months on the 12th & I’m (impatiently) waiting for her to learn to self soothe so we can start lol she requires being nursed to sleep & transferred when she’s fully asleep. Sleep regression w short naps big time! I know she will thrive w the dark room, sound machine, crib but she still wants me too. However I can’t do that during the day bc I have a toddler too so babywearing has been the constant. My body cannot take it anymore, I’m hurting SO BAD & getting daily headaches from the constant tension. 😅 She still hasn’t fully discovered her hands like I’d want though for self soothing. Doesn’t take a paci, it’s me. I am the paci lol

Thank you for sharing this!! I definitely feel like sleep training is often misunderstood but it can be so refreshing for parents and for babies when everyone is getting the sleep they need! Always love your content 🩷

Pleaaase go a little more in depth with timed check ins overnight! Do you use/replace a paci? How do you decide not to feed until the 5 am wake up if he wakes up before that?

Sleep training changed my life and now I have 2 amazing sleepers! I’m on team sleep training and I’ll always stand on that hill but so many of my friends and fam do not and that’s ok too! So glad you found what works for you!!

How do you know when they’re ready to drop the night feed? I have an almost 4 month old and she’s doing great with sleeping but wakes to eat twice still and I’m afraid if I don’t feel her she’ll be hungry 😭

I would really want to try this but im not sure if i can. I struggle with guilt & also wanting and NEEDING sleep. My biggest question is.. what type of crying is actually cruel and i need to stop and pick him up… or am i overreacting and just need to thug it out 🥺🥺

Do you have any advice on crib naps? I have an 11 week old who has exclusively contact napped.. how and when do I need to transition to crib naps?? She sleeps well in her bassinet at night by herself. It’s just day naps that she does contact…
