Doc, the context actually proves the opposite of your conclusion. Peter says the prophets searched and inquired about the salvation they were prophesying, and then says those things were “now reported unto you” through the Gospel (1 Peter 1:10–12). The mystery wasn't that God's will was unknowable; it was that the prophets didn't yet see the full picture of Christ and the salvation He would bring. And Peter immediately tells believers how to live: “As obedient children” and “be ye holy in all manner of conversation” (1 Peter 1:14–15). So you can't use a passage about prophecy being progressively revealed to erase the very obedience Peter commands in the same chapter. That's not context—that's importing a doctrine into the text.

I think the apostles wrote things that they didn’t fully understand and I think they’re amend today who receive revelation of God‘s word that they don’t fully understand what God is say. We may see the outlines, but we do not see the detail.

They needed to re read the scripture through the lens of resurrection. They had read them in waiting for a messiah but resurrection and new creation changes the lens . It doesn’t change the word but how we read it and live it post resurrection
