Yes! Literally one day my mom is talking (albeit on hospice) next day in a coma and nonresponsive and died 4 days later. It was peaceful but no one who visited her in a coma felt any closure.

I waited too long. Don’t wait. Just do it! I’m a nurse and know better but I didn’t listen to what I KNOW is true. Just go!

I went and saw my “aunt” (Grandma’s best friend) and she had just started to become unresponsive. We were able to have a small amount of conversation with her, she cracked a joke, and when I was saying goodbye she squeezed my hand so tight and smiled 😭😭😭

I found out my grandma was on hospice on a Sunday (my brother's girlfriend was supposed to tell me, but never did), I went to see her on Monday (the next day) and she was at the end-- the grab, the lack of awareness, you name it. She died that night. I'm grateful that my cousin let me know and that I spent the day there hanging out with my aunt.

I'm recovering from bronchitis (no fever or major symptoms but I have a lingering cough) and my mom is afraid if I visit my grandmother that I'll cause her to pass sooner. My heart is breaking because I want to say goodbye but I dont want my family to think they could have had more time if I didn't come.

my grandmother went on hospice. one week she looks amazing still active and alert to the next week very out of it, unable to get up and exhausted. then within 3 days she passed. it is crazy how fast it was and we had planned to have a big grandkids sleepover watching old Disney movies for the night she passed. I still regret not doing it sooner

I was supposed to have hospice education a week ago. They kept putting off my visit for hours until I called them and said I have a doctor appointment today. They said they'd reschedule, hasn't happened. But my primary doctor is putting out one more referral for my cancer. I have 2 months expected left, at best.

this is so important for people to understand. my youngest brother was in all the group chats heard everything I had to say about my dad and literally showed up two days before he died didn't look at him talked to me instead and then when he passed away that brother was the one with the biggest chip on his shoulder about it

my poor mom had this happen with her sister who lived 200 miles away. family kept telling her not yet, not now. my mom finally said no, I'm going. we got there 20 mins after she died. my mom was crushed. they talked how my aunt was just eating a donut 2 days ago. my poor mom cried I wanted to see her eat that donut. she was completely devastated. I've learned my lesson. go when you feel you should go, no matter what the family says.

My nana passed 10 days after agreeing to hospice. She made the decision to stop all meds on a Monday, agreed to hospice that Friday, and was bed bound and hardly speaking by Saturday. We lost her 9 days later.

I really wish I was following you several years ago. I didn't understand any of what you have taught us about hospice patients and EoL care. I did see my loved one who was lucid but unfortunately in pain. I knew they were more concerned about ME seeing them suffer but I was just grateful to be able to say goodbye. I wish I had had a better understanding so I could have reassured them more to not worry about my feelings. Thank you for teaching us so much ❤️
