🚇 Tbilisi bypass railway It was unexpected to learn about such a large but unnoticed project. An unfinished bypass railway stretches across the whole of Tbilisi, from the airport to Zahesi. The road passes beyond the Tbilisi Sea, past Lake Gldani, through four tunnels and a long high bridge through the Avchala region. The road was abandoned, almost completed. All that remains is to install the rails and wires. You can go through the tunnels, they are dry and almost clean. There are scary places in the middle of the tunnels when there is no light visible at either end of the tunnel. Local residents occupied one of the tunnels as a sheep pen. The long and high overpass bridge stands without guardrails. It has a strange amount of support. Local residents are unhappy with the bridge. The abandoned road ends at the abandoned Avchala tram depot. And where it can continue is still unclear.
