the dog dies, the wife dies, the female love interest has no personality outside of being the female love interest, the “savages” are weirdly racially coded, everyone who isn’t a redneck’s dream is a villain. such a weird movie

If there is one thing I have learned from *Current Events* there is NO WAY any explosives or fuel will be left 7 years after a full apocalypse. 😅

The thing that made me the most upset was where was all the plane fuel coming from?? There was a whole conversation about how they wouldn’t have enough fuel to make it to the place. Then they made it there and back! With extra weight!!

It's always odd to me when a movie that seemingly has a lot of good people behind it, a lot of money put into it, etc. can turn out so poorly! Like nobody was noticing it was turning out bad??

Oh god. My stepmom was saying she might see this movie but if the dog dies, I need to warn her. 😅 She would not handle it well.

In the book, the dog dies peacefully of old age (on screen) and it’s poignant and sad. The changes the movie made are just saddening

THAT scene with Josh Brolin could've been an all time great action sequence but ended so quickly just for a cheap payoff later. what a letdown

oh my God, movies that are bad that have no reason to be bad are the worst. like, a movie like sharknado, you know exactly what you're getting, but when you have a movie where there are Oscar nominees and winners, and established directors and budget, and after all that you're like "why does this suck? this shouldn't suck at all!"
