Putin’s using World War II tactics right? We haven’t seen a huge paratrooper dump yet. Maybe that’s how he plans to get him through the drones zone.

Sounds like a Faults flag operation. Putin is just trying to divert Ukrainian troops.

Many are operating under the assumption that only Russia would be involved in this push. I think Putin would convince Lukashenko to get involved if he could make him believe that a push for the capital would end the war, (considering that Lukashenko is incapable of thinking for himself) and he would easily have another 100,000 to 200,000 troops at his disposal depending on how many reserves they call up. Russia would still send multiple brigades to partake in the offensive, but the bulk of the force would be Belarusian. Hypothetically of course. Whether or not Lukashenko could actually come to his senses and refuse to partake, is a complete gamble.

If Russia attempted an offensive under current circumstances it would be more meat being thrown into the grinder. They’d be stupid to try and advance without developing counters to Ukrainian technology to cover the assault before they actually launch it.

Just FYI, in 2024 after Russia opened a new vector of attack on Kharkiv from its territory, Ukraine said that they are expecting same attack on Sumy and moved forces there. Later these forces were used for Kursk incursion. I don’t want to make conclusions now, but that’s just a possibility.

Fascinating Preston. He may do it but it would stretch his forces greatly, as you say.

@ Prestonstuart I’m not sure if I’m remembering correctly and I’m not sure exactly where I think all along the Belarusian border other than Chernobyl they built massive fortifications at a concrete all along there with minefields and Barbwire trenches didn’t they do that around kev border two
