we moved into a house, it was picked for us by the government. unpacking in the kitchen my husband realized that he'd painted that house 10 years prior (hes a painter by trade), and he remembered standing in that kitchen praying for 'a house like this one someday'. in those 10 years, hed moved provinces and cities and never expected to live here again.

I was supposed to be a boy. Ultrasound tech told mum “yup, definitely a boy”. So mum picked out a first and middle name for me, Alexander James. Alexander for my dad’s middle name, James for my grandads middle name. In 2016, I met a man by complete coincidence (long story short, neither of us were supposed to be there) and when I saw him I thought “I’m going to marry that man”. His name is Alexander James. 11 years later, 4 kids and we’re getting married next month on Halloween 🥰

Met my first girlfriend when I was 17 years old. So was she. Found out our birthdays were only one day apart. Found out we were born in the very same hospital. Both our mothers remembered. There were only two motherd giving birth in that week. Her and my mother. We lay next to each other 17 years before.

Had a friend from about sixth grade (in California) to adulthood. She had moved and moved again ended up in Washington. I moved and moved again ended in Georgia. Years go by and my son is in Boy Scouts and I’m a scout leader. Couple friends are leaders as well they had moved from Washington. We get to talking about coffee one day and I joke I have a friend in Washington that has an online coffee store and I mention her name. They knew her and were good friends! In Washington!

Me and a girl from a small high school were in the same grade, casual friends, graduated and parted ways. We both moved, went on with life and ended up in the same small town 4 hours away in a different state married with the same last name. Our husbands have no relation though that we know.

I needed a code for the toilet at a restaurant, i just pressed a few random keys (2223) and in case it was just a “any code is good” type lock. It opened so I assumed that was the case. Afterwards I got my order receipt and the code for the door waz actually 2223. I just randomly guessed correct out of thousands of possibilities

in 2015 I was looking at a new car, my dad passed away in 2013 and he would have been the one to come with me to make sure I got a decent car. when I saw the paperwork of the car I chose I knew it was the right decision. the previous owner had lived in the road I grew up, the MOT was done on Townsend Industrial estate - my surname, and to top it all the MOT was done on 28th September. my dads birthday! he was guiding me for sure!

I’m from the UK. I was working in China. Sitting on a flight from Beijing to Shanghai and we were told one last passenger was boarding. It was a full flight and the empty seat was next to me. The last passenger was my dentist !! From the UK. She’d been at an international conference and for a job interview at a private clinic in Shanghai. Two months later I broke a tooth. Went to a private dentist that my insurance company recommended. When I sat in the chair the dentist pulled down her mask and said ‘surprise!’ Same dentist.

I met my next door neighbor in an entirely different city very far away from my city (I live in the Paris region and it was in the far south next to the beach) and it was a very small city like 480 miles away, I live in France so its far from being a small populated country and we never knew about each other's plans or something, we were both lost for words

Excuse me for my English .It’s not that deep but when me and my husband started dating and he met my dad they figured out that my husband’s uncles were working for my dad in the 80s.A month later I was talking to my husband about my dad’s cancer diagnosis in 2004 and that he had to do a surgery in a certain hospital .The same days my husband (he was a teenager) had a leg surgery at the same hospital at the same time in 2004 ..The craziest thing for me the year I met my husband and figured out all this circumstances my dad diagnosed with cancer again .This time he passed away but two weeks before he met again with my husband’s uncles .

I caught a baby in the air who had come careening down a walkway in a runaway stroller at a hotel in Cancun. I heard the mom scream, she was running after the stroller while I was coming up a couple of steps from where the washroom was. I reached my arms up as the stroller hit the railing and the baby came toward me lifting out of the seat. Had I been one second earlier or later I could have missed the chance to catch the child. this was back in 2006… That little baby is 20 now. I think it was a boy. I hope he’s living his best life. ❤️

I worked at a skateboarding store in my teens and during Boxing Day sales there was a buy one get one 50% off deal we had. I was irritated at one of the higher ups (I don’t even remember why) and did 50% off the higher priced item not the lower as I was supposed to, for a lot of people in line. I sold a young guy a skateboard and the parts. 10 years later I meet a guy and we start dating. In one conversation he tells me about how once he shopped at the same store I had worked at years ago on Boxing Day and a girl sold him a skateboard 50% off the more expensive part and how stoked he was…that girl was me. We’re married now and been together almost 11 years.

I was on a trip with my dad, eating at a table outside while he told me stories about his time in the army and this one friend. Suddenly, without even getting up he reached out and SNATCHED this man walking right past our table. IT WAS HIM! We were all shocked. They hadn’t seen each other in 36 years! They both burst into tears and then we went for beers.

I went to Barcelona on a school art trip. We were supposed to be sketching the interior of a big church. Instead, I sat on the church steps and sketched this cute little window and planter on a nearby house. When I got back from the trip my brother wanted to see my sketch book as he'd been on the same trip 5 years previous. He was flicking through when he stopped, promptly left, returned with his own Barcelona sketch book and opened to a page where he'd sketched the exact same cute little window and planter as I had. They were identical. I'd never seen his sketchbook before.

In the Czech Republic, we were celebrating the anniversary of 1989, when people gathered in Prague and rang their keys in the streets. A photo from that day went viral, and my mom noticed her brother in the crowd. She showed it to my dad, who looked at it and said, “Look who’s standing right next to him.” It was him - my dad! Standing right next to my mom’s brother, even though my parents didn’t know each other yet. They wouldn’t meet for another 10 years. Out of thousands of people, they somehow ended up standing next to each other. 😭

This one isn’t as crazy as some of these but, my grandma passed away just over a year ago, she and my grandad got me into the Beatles when I was growing up, I used to ask her what her favourite song by them was and she said blackbird. On my birthday I was feeling down after opening the card she had already pre written for me before she passed so I decided to sit in my garden and ponder. From a neighbouring house the song blackbird started playing and I look up in the sky to see a black bird flying on its own right over my house, it was the only bird in the sky.

A few weeks into dating my partner and I got onto the topic of childhood toys. He told me that he had a very special childhood toy that he’d had since he was about 4. He said that it was very sentimental to him and helped him get through some difficult times he had as a kid growing up. He was very wary to show me, as we are in our thirties and he didn’t want me to make fun of him or anything and stressed to me how important it was. I said it was fine because I also had a favourite childhood toy that I still sleep with at night. He showed me and my jaw literally dropped. It’s the exact same soft toy that I have and have had since I was four too, only his is slightly larger. I’ve never seen another one of this exact toy and my brain almost broke when I saw it. In that moment it made more sense to me that he had stolen my toy, and was showing it to me in some weird psychological game. I told him I had the exact same one and he thought I was teasing him and got upset until I was able to show him a photo of it. I genuinely still am shocked that we grew up with the same toy that we both hold such a sentimental love for. Our toys now sleep together every night next to us 💖
