On 17 July 2026, Jessica Rabe, 20, and Yudistan Pillay, 25, were reported missing from the Van Dyk Park and Dalpark areas in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg. What began as a disappearance quickly became a sustained, community-driven search that stretched across more than six weeks. While official processes moved slowly, ordinary people, private investigators and local organisations refused to accept silence or delay. Teams from CPI Van Dyk Park, PCP Investigations, Graphite Security and Ghostline Tactical continued searching the area day after day. Their persistence kept pressure on the case and kept the names of Jessica and Yudistan in public view. Dawnpark SAPS later joined the effort, bringing official resources to the ground once the private and community search had already demonstrated the scale of concern. On 31 August 2026 the search ended in the most painful way possible. The bodies of Jessica and Yudistan were located at the corner of Wildevy Crescent and Mimosa Street. A community notice shared by CPI Van Dyk Park confirmed that the remains were severely damaged and in an advanced state of decomposition. The same notice paid tribute to those who had refused to give up. It specifically commended Johan van der Heever of CPI and Wendy Pascoe of PCP Investigations for their unrelenting efforts, and thanked Dawnpark SAPS for the professionalism and dedication shown once they became involved. Three suspects have since been arrested and remain in custody. Their arrest is an important step, yet it does not erase the weeks of uncertainty, the trauma carried by families and friends, or the questions that still surround how two young people vanished from their community. Cases like this expose both the limits of delayed official response and the power of coordinated community action when systems move too slowly. JustAdvocacy stands with the families of Jessica Rabe and Yudistan Pillay. We recognise the work of the private investigators, security teams and neighbours who kept searching when hope was thin. We also acknowledge the eventual involvement of Dawnpark SAPS and the arrests that followed. True justice requires more than arrests. It requires transparent investigation, support for the bereaved, and systemic improvements so that missing-persons reports from communities like Van Dyk Park and Dalpark receive urgent, sustained attention from the outset. We call on authorities to ensure this case is pursued with the seriousness it deserves, and we urge the public to continue supporting the families as the legal process unfolds. Silence helps no one. Persistent, organised community pressure, combined with accountable policing, remains essential. Jessica and Yudistan deserved better. Their names must not be forgotten. #JusticeForJessicaAndYudistan #BoksburgMissing #VanDykPark #CommunitySearch #JustAdvocacy
