@laurel.of.life: We will NEVER stop preaching the importance of choosing a provider who is trained and experienced in breech birth. Because here's the thing, breech does not automatically mean "you can't birth vaginally." Mothers deserve to know their options. They deserve providers who are skilled in supporting different birth presentations. And they deserve the opportunity to make informed decisions about where, how, and with whom they birth. Birth is not one-size-fits-all. We say it all the time. Our goal will always be to educate you on your options so YOU can make the decisions that are right for you and your baby. Informed moms are empowered moms.
A home birth with breach twins is insane. Your husband was okay with you risking both yours and your children’s lives?

As an L&D nurse, I will forever be scarred from a vaginal twin delivery where baby B turned feet first breech after baby A was born and let me just say, that body dystocia was so severe we were all breaking nervous inside and saying our prayers.

My midwife is trained in breech births and has done them over her 20+ years as one, I don’t get why this is not taught anymore.

You're right- breech doesn't have to mean vaginal birth is absolutely impossible. With that said, vaginal breech births (ESPECIALLY TWO???) should not EVER be a home birth. Putting your and your babies lives on th line for the love of the game

YES. Why are all the OBs trained in C-section, but only one or 2 in breech birth (so depends who’s on call that day.) All providers should be prepared for this completely natural, common way to birth

Remember kids whatever your OB tells you breach is a variation of normal…. Don’t let them pressure you into the birth you don’t want.

Let’s remember not to fear monger and spew “you got lucky” hate. That’s so gross to me. Congratulations on not allowing the medical system to hijack your births!

I’ll never understand people commenting issues with the way someone else decided to welcome their babies to earth. She was aware of the risk and was comfortable enough with whatever the outcome was. I’m not sure why that’s hard to understand! Of course women who go this route know the risks and still choose the natural route. And I wish I had the guts!! It’s incredible!

That’s awesome. Me personally, I care more about my babies surviving versus “my experience” so yeah, glad it all turned out ok.

Congratulations!!!! I would be shouting this from the rooftops! Midwives receive breech training while most OBs do not.
