@jackdmurphy: Female superheroes and video game characters are routinely stripped of their strength and muscularity in mainstream media whereas men are told that they have to be muscular in order to have any worth. Even if they’re playing character whose physique has absolutely no effect on the story. Why?! This type of body image is detrimental to everyone. As I’ve said before: This is not just a matter of looking good, the patriarchy relies on men taking up more space and on women taking up less space. If men are muscly, they are “real men”. If women are muscly, they are “unattractive” and “not feminine”. When in reality, the patriarchy doesn’t see strong women as unattractive, they see them as a threat. Women and girls are starving themselves to emulate the women they see in mainstream media. Whereas men and boys are developing e*ting d*sorders and body d*smorphia in an attempt to bulk up and be seen as “masculine”. This is why the patriarchy is damaging for everyone, (including men!) and we need to WAKE. UP. I could honestly talk about this all day. So fascinating. What are your thoughts? ♥️ #mcu #Fitness #rant #tlou #feminist

I completely agreed with you until your take on trans women in women's sport. it's not about trans women being a "threat" to women, it's about fairness and consent. a biological man taking an opportunity away from a woman is patriarchy. not only that but it's even more egregious when they were weak in the men's category only to dominate the female sport. not only that but if a significant number of women don't feel comfortable sharing their CHANGING ROOMS with someone who's biologically male, violating that consent is misogyny and r*pe culture. women's no means no. not 'let me convince you'. Anyway, yes to more buff women in film and tv!

As a man and an actor, I disagree, if I'm allowed! So when we see buff females in superhero roles we APPLAUD them!! The dedication to gain muscle to show strength in a strong role it LOOKS RIGHT!! We want them to represent what they are. SUPERHEROES!!! If you think its actually masculin men making these decisions then you are incorrect. The majority of decision makers in the movie world are either women or gay men. Sorry to burst your bubble on this one. Youre wrong!
