Most don't understand the mindset of a lot of immigrants. To be looked at as a criminal with an ankle monitor on is humiliating. Immigrant parents push into your head that America is your opportunity to become great. NEVER get involved in crime. Keep your head down and work toward your goals. U already left behind chaos and danger. DO NOT come here messing up! So to him, that ankle monitor represented all that he didn't want to become. For some Americans, a monitor means nothing. You'll get a 2nd chance. To others, its humiliation! There is only 1 chance for immigrants. They don't get a 2nd. So, maybe its a mindset some won't understand because of the privilege we've been provided with by where we were born!
