@narcissism.therapy: 1/ They don't text you every waking second If you're used to intense relationships, consistent but calm communication can initially feel like a lack of interest. But having a life outside the relationship is often healthier than needing constant contact. 2/ They don't make huge promises early on No talk of soulmates after three dates. No planning your wedding within a month. It can feel less exciting, but genuine love often takes time to grow instead of arriving like a hurricane. 3/ They tell you when you've hurt them At first, conflict can feel terrifying, especially if you're used to relationships where disagreements meant abandonment. A healthy partner doesn't pretend everything is fine. They communicate. 4/ They respect your need for space They don't panic when you want a night alone or time with friends. Ironically, someone not needing constant access to you can feel strange when you're used to possessiveness being mistaken for passion. 5/ The relationship feels almost... boring No emotional rollercoasters. No wondering where you stand. No dramatic breakups followed by passionate reunions. At first, peace can feel underwhelming when your nervous system is used to confusing intensity with love.
