Years ago, after years of rage fighting between my husband and I, we started going to the silent treatment instead to protect our children. At least with the verbal fighting, we got it out, it was done, and everything moved on. But with the silent treatment it last and last. I have learned to except it. But then I started getting it at work from my boss. I was the administrative assistant. And the big boss gave me the silent treatment after I was in a terrible auto accident and broke three ribs, and my husband broken his back, and I was off work recovering. When I came back after one month, the silent treatment began, and it did not end until I left two years later. But I wasn’t the only one that he gave the silent treatment too. Anyone who disagreed with him he would do the same to them. It was a very toxic environment at work and at home.

And they don’t realize they are teaching their children the behavior as normal. It doesn’t teach conflict management.

My ex husband used to do it. It was terrible. I will never deal with that again. 💯❤️🩹

or maybe we just decided that they've caused enough chaos in our lives and now we've cut them off and they can no longer get a rise out of us.
