@taigberg: If you’ve been stretching your back for years and the pain keeps coming back, the problem may not be where you feel it. For me, changing years of chronic back pain came down to addressing two things at the same time: mobility in the front of the body and strength in the back. I teach fascia release around the diaphragm, solar plexus, navel, and abdominal region because restriction and guarding through this area can influence how freely your rib cage, trunk, and diaphragm move. If your body can’t expand and rotate well through the torso, other areas may start compensating. But releasing tissue is only half the equation. You also have to give your body the strength to support the new position. That’s why I pair these releases with back extensions to train the posterior chain, including the spinal extensors, glutes, and hamstrings. When these muscles are undertrained, your body can rely on compensation patterns that keep certain areas working overtime. My approach is simple: 1. Release what’s restricting movement Diaphragm Solar plexus Navel Abdominal region 2. Strengthen what’s supposed to support you Back extensions Glutes Hamstrings Spinal extensors Don’t just chase the spot that hurts. Look at how the entire system is moving and what it may be compensating for. Your spine needs both movement and strength. You’re only as young as your spine. Take care of it. 🫡 #backpain #nervoussystemhealing #fascia #allignment #breathwork

I've been working heavily on fascia release for the last 4 years. Damn, it's a long process, but so worth it.
