@tinayazdani: NEW: Ontario teachers are finding some classroom supplies cost significantly more on the Ford government’s new Staples portal. I asked Education Minister Paul Calandra about it: “it's not meant to be perfect from day one, but it will get there.” Full exchange here. #ontario #onpoli #onted #etfo #ontarioteachers

aaaAaaAaaa :

So basically Doug Ford and Paul Calandra are teaming up with Staples to price gouge teachers

Toronto Roadcams :

isn't staples an American company? if we're boycotting US companies why is Dung Ford still doing this?

🌞AMvsPM🌛 🇨🇦 :

Why is he flat out lying?

‘ :

Mind you, schools already get worse pricing. Duotangs are on sale in store at staples for $0.22.

Brad🇨🇦 :

I don’t know about anybody else, but when I was in school, my parents paid all my school supplies lunch everything none of the schools I ever went to supply us with anything so I don’t know what the school board is crying about. The parents should be buying their kids school supplies, not the schools.

Canadampuzzle🇨🇦 :

Teachers tell your Principal to tell your Superintendent to tell the government to tell Staples. Efficient 😒

AskMrsA🇨🇦 :

Staples doesn't sell musical instruments or any of the supplies needed to repair them.

Tom 🇨🇦 :

If you know there are 200 items that are essential, why not supply every school/teacher with those supplies?

user6144180719122 :

Money laundering…?

Adam Speight :

Conservatives always forget that teachers have functioning adult brains and abundant critical thinking skills. Shocker.

SwwwtCuppinCake :

his rant blaming social media is a red flag. he blames teachers for publicly calling out his lack of planning (because it's a sweetheart deal for staples). what a grifter.

Julie Summers 🇨🇦 :

We should never normalize teachers having to shop to do their job.

Maple🇨🇦 :

What teachers did he ask? Where was the poll?

darrielann :

He’s lying!!!!! Duotangs are essential!!!!!! I have seen markers being 4-5x the cost

lisaweidner0🇨🇦 :

So he flat out lied! Well done...

Ashligator :

The corruption knows no bounds

Magnus Chen :

staples is an American company btw. so much for canada first

Jess :

“Teachers weren’t online ordering their own supplies in September, October or June…” because they were doing it through the school ordering system at a LOWER COST. This is not a solution, it’s siphoning money out of where it belongs and giving it to greedy corporations.

FromMyPhone :

200 products are cheaper? Name three

Coopy :

Why staples? We should be allowed to use Walmart, Costco, dollar store, and any place that is cheaper. I bought duotangs at the staples store for 17 cents. The government is not being honest and this is not fair.

Steph Gramr :

Duotangs are $0.25 at Walmart right now 🙄

Finn fan :

Notebooks are 20 for 35.00 - almost 2 dollars a notebook where as the public gets 4 for 1.39

user2254803901443 :

It’s cheaper to walk into the store and buy the products!

christinefleming002 :

A pack of 200 sheets of lined paper was $10.38 through this Staples site. $2.38 for the same at Walmart!
