When I was taught it was on each other and we did not do it laying down. Stood up, left glute meant left leg was relaxed. Squeeze and go in fast like a dart! I feel that hurt going in slow lol And always aspirate, still to this day I do it how I was taught in school.

I graduated in 2012. We never practiced injections on each other. We got 2 chances to practice IV’s on each other. We practiced TB wheals on hotdogs…lol.

The practice I work at has dorsogluteal injections against their policy because they can damage or irritate the sciatic nerve (per the company and our lead physician)

That technique is no longer used anymore. Now is ventrogluteal to avoid hitting any nerves or blood vessels.
