ok so i feel like nobody actually talks about this?? like we spend SO much time preparing for labor and the birth plan and the hospital bag and then the baby arrives and your brain just. goes somewhere else entirely. and nobody warned me. not one person. my doctor checked my incision at 6 weeks and sent me home and that was kind of it lol. no one sat me down and said hey by the way you might cry for no reason at 2am while ur baby is finally sleeping and you should be sleeping but instead ur just. sitting there. feeling completely invisible even though you have this tiny person who needs you for literally everything. the loneliness of those early weeks is something i genuinely was not prepared for and i think about that a lot bc i talk to so many first time moms who feel the exact same way and think something is wrong with them. nothings wrong with you. ur just in it. the thing that actually helped me when i was in those late nights was finding Beacon bc it literally shows u other moms who are awake at the same time going through the same thing and i cannot explain how much it helped to just. know. that someone else was also sitting in the dark at 3am not totally sure they were okay. it sounds small but when ur that deep in the fog it is everything. also the intrusive thoughts thing. i WISH someone had told me before. i thought i was losing my mind. i thought something was genuinely wrong with me. and then i found out basically every new mom has them and its a completely known thing and not one person in my prenatal care mentioned it. not once. so if ur reading this and ur having scary thoughts please know ur not a monster. ur a tired mom whos brain is trying to protect ur baby in an overfired way and u should talk to someone but u are not broken. this stage is hard and real and u are doing so much better than u think u are 🤍 save this if u need it today #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
