It’s not surprising if people think of Egypt over Sudan when mentioning pyramids, so it’s interesting to see Sudanese pyramids 🤔

This is so sad! Hope the government will at least scan all the pyramids so they have them as 3D models, if they can't protect all of them!

During the Kerma Kingdom, the Kushite kings worshipped the ram god, a local Kushite deity, and buried themselves in these burial chambers along with approximately 1,000 cows. Later, due to the Kerma's initial alliance with the Hyksos, who occupied northern Egypt, Kerma's influence expanded to the borders of Luxor, the capital of Egypt. However, after the expulsion of the Hyksos and a drought in Kush, the Egyptians were able to invade Kush, destroy the capital, and subject Kush to a period of colonization that lasted 450 years. The Kushite people (of Sudan) resisted Egyptian occupation for 230 years until they finally defeated it during the reign of King Ramses II. The Kushites then sought to control their religion, and this continued until King Arius I unified Kush and established the Kushite Empire. He conquered Egypt, the Levant, and North Africa, reaching the borders of Iraq, Turkey, and the Mediterranean Sea for 100 years. Afterward, they were defeated by the Assyrians, and their territory was reduced to the borders of Kush, encompassing most of present-day Sudan. It was during this period that the Kushites adopted the religious burial practices of the pyramids.
