@tradex_labs: You don’t need a neural network, HFT infrastructure, or a PhD in quantitative finance to build a trading system that works. As a retail trader, you’re probably never going to compete with firms that have better data, faster infrastructure, larger research teams, and billions of dollars behind them. So DON’T try to compete with them. Your edge needs to come from finding something unique, turning it into objective rules, coding it, testing it, and then trying as hard as possible to prove that it doesn’t work. Walk-forward analysis. Out-of-sample testing. Monte Carlo simulations. Parameter permutations. Stability testing. Robustness testing. You don’t need the most complicated strategy. You need a strategy with predictive value that survives statistical validation on data it wasn’t optimized on. And even then, nothing works forever. Markets change, regimes change, and signals degrade. But if you’ve researched the idea, coded it, accounted for realistic costs, tested it properly, validated it on unseen data, and understand exactly where the edge comes from… RUN IT At that point, nobody can definitively tell you the strategy doesn’t work until the live data proves otherwise. Complexity ≠ edge. Validation > sophistication. #daytrading #algorithmictrading #systematictrading #propfirmtrading #tradingsystems
