I mean she is kinda sorta better than him. She’s stronger, had to not only go through the intense training to become a neurosurgeon but had to do with while beating addiction and held her skullless baby as he squeaked to death as a result of her alcoholism so yeah she’s better then him

amelia had a better success rate because of the fact derek was more of a lost cause doctor. majority of his patients would go to him last because hed be the only surgeon whod try. amelia is amazing yes and only had more success when he died, she was not better than derek. she had better technology than derek.
