I feel like forcing them to continue to deliberate is forcing them into that room until someone caves and abandons their opinion because of pressure from the other jurors. It doesn’t seem fair to me to force this upon different people with different views. Look at how people are at each others throats on the internet. Imagine being stuck in a room with some of these people and told you have to agree before the deliberation is over.

I do not like this, forcing people to go back in when it’s a hung jury. It’s like literally mentally breaking someone down so they just agreed to something so they can be done.

I don’t understand Judge Sullivan forcing them to go back and deliberate. He’s basically telling them to keep going until someone changes their mind. I fear the jury will change their mind just to be done and go home. This is a woman’s life hanging in the balance.

Sadden by this whole situation. My daughter suffered from PPD PPP. 11 hospitalization due wrong treatments and tons of medications with horrific side effects, so 11 episodes of mania and psychosis, until finally she got the right help. During all that we never left her alone with her baby who is going to be 9. Her husband gave up and stepped out but her family did not. And that makes a huge different, imo of experience and knowledge, the Mental Healthcare system and her husband failed her.

I was in a hung jury years ago (much lesser issue) but I was sad at how people just wanted to be done and wouldn’t take time to see both sides.

But if they can’t come to a decision, wouldn’t that mean the prosecution couldn’t prove her to be fit? Like they cannot come to a verdict so it’s inconclusive I feel. Not enough proof to prove their case clearly.

I read that some jury members also children and its the first week of school. They have been attending this trial for 5/6 weeks and are likely finding the process stressful. Yes they are deadlocked but that may not be the only reason.
