Try living near a data center, huge amount of noise from the gas turbines, which also put out huge air pollution, and then there's the water usage. So yes, build data centers, but let's not put them in places near people and not in any geography that already has a water shortage like the entire Southwest of the USA which is already a desert.

AI will eliminate 150 jobs for every job they create . And AI doesn’t pay income taxes , doesn’t buy homes or pay for groceries or go on vacation . Which will shrink gov budgets and increase deficits .

Maybe just stop giving them massive tax breaks, make them pay for and provide their own energy to not strain the energy grid and driving up energy costs, and build them in a way they are not an absolute nuisance with noise pollution to local communities.

AI can run on a desktop, thats not what the data centers are for.. The data centers are for a mass surveillance state while data harvesting every breath you take and selling it to every company (including the ones you work for) Go read 1984 and come back to this silly sentiment.
