I know when i was growing u had to be the man of the house u had to be hard u had to demand respect and that made me hate u.. Years later when u got sick u asked me to move in with u.. Becoz u needed me, at age 38 and u 72 u came into my room at 3am woke me up told y growing up u had to be wu u wer, u explained y hit me, and how it hurt u so much, u asked for my forgiveness, hugged me n went back to ur room. Little did I know u wud pass away a couple days later.. U wer hard but u were fair, u raised me in a good home.. U left me ur business's and I'm stil running them 2 years after your death.. RIP old man.. Hope u and ur son my brother finaly speak in heaven coz the 20 years you and him never spoke killed you daily.. I hope u at peace

I’d finally tell him everything I never got the chance to say. That his absence hurt, that I needed him, and that growing up without him left questions I carried for years. But I’d also tell him I survived it. I became the man I am without the father I deserved. I don’t need an apology anymore—I just needed him to know that his absence mattered. And somehow, I found a way to make peace with that.

Dad, as a dad myself, I’m sorry I didn’t acknowledge your hard work and sacrifice more growing up… I’m sorry I never noticed your dedication to my brother and I, even tho u didn’t create us, you treated us as yours… I’m so grateful for the Saturday morning “cmon boys, today we are changing wheel bearings, and then doing the yard for mom..” Thank you for providing a safe place to call home and even comeback to when my life fell apart as an adult. When you left I was too young to realize how broken I’d be without a proper father figure . But as life never tended to stop I was able to show my brother how it is to be a proper man. Now I get to be an amazing uncle to an amazing nephew who has a badass father. So I guess thank you for showing me what I wouldn’t be doing .
