Closing speed is brutal at that pace. Germany is the only country with no general motorway speed limit, and a 2015 federal study found 70.4% of the network carried only the advisory 130km/h figure. Traffic joining from slower lanes is the real hazard, not the speed itself. At 246km/h a car covers about 68 metres every second, so a two-second gap is nearly 140 metres. Lucky because if that lorry merged into the middle lane any earlier, you'd have been absolutely screwed. This is why I never belt it on the motorway unless I have pure clean road in front of me.
