Ugh I feel for you so much. I had to have them at the time because of risk for my lungs and I was pretty young so I just did what everyone told me was best, but I can’t say surgery solved everything. There’s been a lot of ups and downs since then. I do miss my flexibility. I used to be able to touch my toes to my forehead. I can’t even touch my toes normally now. The surgery gave me back a lot of confidence at the time but it’s had its drawbacks. It’s a tough choice and I don’t think people understand how hard it can be. I truly wish you all the best no matter what you choose to do/when you choose to do it. I will be rooting you on regardless!

If you take the late path, you would make one heck of a coach!!! especially if you run a flyer training program 🥰 Cheer doesn't have to be OVER OVER.

That is such a hard decision. I had to make the same one and the doctors were so dismissive and acted like I was dumb for wanting to be a gymnast/cheerleader. I wish for you the strength to make the decision that is right for you🧡

As someone who had scoliosis surgery at 16, has 2 rods and 21 screws, and was told the possibility of cheering again was very slim, I continued to compete and still do 10 years later, I don’t tumble anymore but I did for 3 years after surgery, don’t let them tell you it’s not possible❤️
