If your only reason for marriage is the material or worldly “improvement” it brings you, then you’ve completely missed the Islamic purpose of marriage. Islam doesn’t teach us to view marriage as a business transaction where you only participate when the returns are significant. Allah describes marriage as a source of tranquility, affection and mercy, and it comes with responsibilities, sacrifice and worship not just an upgraded lifestyle. Wanting a better life isn’t wrong, but making worldly gain the condition for marriage is a very dangerous mindset. Marriage is a partnership in faith and life, not a financial investment. Peace ✌🏾
