unfortunately that toilet wouldn't be big enough for a wheelchair. There is no space next to the toilet for space transfer and the turning space would be incredibly tight. 😊

red emergency cords shouldn't be ON the floor, the bottom handle should be 10cm exactly from the floor and the second handle should be around 1m up if they trailed on the floor they could get caught in wheels or mobility aids, someone could trip or accidentally pull it, and itd also be way less hygienic

From someone who has been a wheelchair user for 22 years after a motorbike accident ended up paralyzed, from a spinal cord injury,and also trained as a disability access auditor. this is awful. but can honestly say things to do with disability, as in Access and accessible places hasn't improved that much in the last 20 yrs plus, there is the odd one and normally the odd ones are out of this world but very rare ,Wheelchairs and aids have come on ten fold though .

IKEA accessible toilet is amazing!! Only used the one in Cardiff but the door open/closes itself and there’s a sensor button to lock it. They also have a hoist and changing table.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t fit my wheelchair very well I have a huge power chair, there is also no rail on the door to be able to close it behind you not to mention locking the door. Also not having room to turn around you will have to reverse out. That’s a nope from me.

The red emergency chord isn’t long enough, doesn’t even touch the floor and I wouldn’t say it’s in plain sight either. I’m a wheelchair user and it looks to me that I would have no problem in that particular toilet

The red cord should never touch the floor, it should be 100mm off the floor and the top triangle should be between 800-1000mm off the floor. Have you tried a changing places yet? They are the ultimate accessible toilet 4m x3m, long lever flush, long lever tap, height adjustable sink

Accessibility in disabled toilets has a lot to improve on, I have experience using them in a chair/scooter but my upper body is fine, And id never have thought of the toilet flushes before. This is really important to share and I hope others do too. Disability can affect every part of the body, and this shows that they arent good for arm affecting disability

I just wanted to write that I have been watching you for a little while now. And I respect what you do sir. You do not seem to give up on life. I am afraid that if I was you, I would just wait for the time to pass and saying to myself that because I can’t control my body like I used to, then why fight to live like before. Enjoy your family, that’s the most precious we (as human) have.
