@munaug256: King Oyo (Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV) of the Tooro Kingdom in Uganda left behind a son/prince as his heir.  King Oyo died on 27 August 2026 at the age of 34. In the official announcement, Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki stated that “the continuity of the Crown is assured” and that “His Majesty leaves behind a Prince as his heir, whose identity will be formally revealed at the appropriate time, in accordance with the traditions and customs of Tooro Kingdom.”  President Yoweri Museveni later confirmed, based on a conversation with Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, that Oyo left a young boy heir who would be introduced publicly at the right time.  Key points • Oyo was not officially married. • The prince’s name, age, and other details have not been publicly disclosed yet; the kingdom is following traditional protocols for the revelation. • There has been some public discussion and differing statements from clan elders about whether a biological heir was previously known to the broader royal clan, but the official kingdom position (and that of the queen mother) affirms the existence of the heir.
