U see glimpses of the father he would’ve become had he not met Monica. Maybe he would have fallen into addiction but would have had a higher chance of actually becoming clean/sober.

I had a cousin I ADORED growing up. He treated me like his little sister. I was spoiled asf so ofc my family called me “Princess”..The week he turned 18 he up and left. I was 10 at the time. Six years later at a party I bump into someone and say sorry. He turns to me and says “princess?”. I SOBBEDDDD! we catch up for a minute or two and he continues on with his friends. Everyone’s finding a spot to sleep in this random guys house and I finally get settled in some corner with my best friend. As I’m falling asleep I can see him and his gf at the time chatting… I’m being weird and fake sleeping to try and overhear their convo. As I’m about to ACTUALLY fall asleep he walks over and covers me with a blanket and tucks me in (yes I cried again). I haven’t spoke to him or seen him since then. From what I see on local news he had been a heavy addict since he had left home. The gf he had at that party had unfortunately died not too long after from OD. From what I hear now he is doing so much better and I hope there comes a day I can see him again. It breaks my heart 😭

my dad was (is) a frank. Great personality, charismatic, funny, sometimes even a great dad. addiction makes you forget all of the good, for good reasons. that's why i always disliked Frank, because no matter how hard it would've been, he always had the choice to fight it for his children.
