I will say I do think a lot of people think they’re allergic to iodine when they actually just got the shit scrubbed out of their skin to get the iodine off

They made my bellybutton incision bigger too because my gallbladder was infected and inflamed. Most people have the scar inside the bellybutton.

So contrast from a catscan and iodine used for sterilizing your body is the same. So if you’ve had reactions both times, I would mark it as an allergy. As someone who works with contrast and iodine all day, you do not want to have a worse reaction. ❤️

My brother in law is allergic to iodine and he’s the same way! His started with a CT scan making him violently ill. Then when he had a procedure same thing. Make sure to let your doctors know. It’s a crazy allergy but that’s also coming from me who is allergic to Dill. 🙃

I always have a skin allergy after surgery but it’s due to the adhesive of the bandages and medical glue.

It’s probably chloraprep, lots of people have bad reactions to it. It’s a kind of antiseptic. Hope it starts clearing up soon! 🤗🩷

that is so weird! I'm allergic to adhesives and I had a rash when I had my gallbladder removed. from my chest down. I had to get a shot. you're the first person other than me that I have heard of having that happen.
