Yes, because God did not come down to speak to us until Moses. Prior to that the demi gods were ruling….why is it so difficult for people to understand? They are not going to portray themselves as evil.

In all of these ancient cultures the serpent is associated with knowledge… the serpent in the Bible convinces Eve to seek knowledge… but yeah, it’s presented as a bad thing in the Bible and I believe it’s because this is an allegory for growing up. When you are a child you are pure and innocent and look up to your father, but as you grow and gain knowledge that changes.
