@pimlicodrivingschool: Cross Roads Explained! 🚗 Crossroads with give-way lines At a crossroads, give-way lines tell you where you must stop/give way if required. They are usually a broken white line across your lane, often accompanied by a Give Way triangle/sign. If you’re approaching the junction from the bottom: 1. Slow down as you approach the give-way line. 2. Look both ways and check for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. 3. Give way to traffic on the priority road (the road you’re joining/crossing), as indicated by the signs/road markings. 4. If the junction is clear, continue without stopping. 5. If traffic is approaching, stop before the give-way line and wait for a safe gap. 6. When turning, remember to check for pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road you’re entering. ⚠️ Important A give-way line doesn’t necessarily mean you must stop every time. You stop only when necessary to give way. If the road is clear, you can proceed after slowing and checking.
