@truebritto: The importance of CO2 Carbohydrates have a 1.0 respiratory quotient (RQ), meaning for every molecule of oxygen consumed to break down glucose an equal amount of CO2 is produced. Fats only have a 0.7 RQ. On a high carb diet while being saturated with the necessary micronutrients, you’ll be producing much more CO2. Plenty of things in our environment deplete both magnesium and thiamine, so supplementation is generally beneficial across the board. I take magnesium and thiamine every morning personally. I also consistently practice Buteyko breathing. Thyroid support, circadian habits, RLT, bicarbonate, high calcium intake are some other supportive things here. Every health account on tiktok is simply taking Ray Peat’s work and regurgitating it while presenting it as some esoteric never heard before information. The entire seed oil/pufa thing for example

CO2 does not deliver oxygen the lungs do that , the Bohr effect just results in more rapid dissociation of O2 from Hb by lowering affinity of Hb for oxygen !!
