@oasis.app: We checked the lab report across 80+ contaminants. What we found: - Cadmium: ND - Mercury: ND - Lead: 0.00006 mg/L (limit 0.015) - Arsenic: 0.00179 mg/L (limit 0.01) - Uranium: 0.00072 mg/L (limit 0.03) - Nitrate: 0.48 mg/L (limit 10) - No VOCs quantified Locals call it “l’acqua che rompe la pietra,” the water that breaks the stone, and there’s data behind the name. Fulvic acids from Fiuggi’s aquifer bind calcium and disrupt the crystal lattice of calcium oxalate, the main kidney-stone mineral. In lab testing at a matched 2 L/24h flow, Fiuggi water dissolved human calcium-oxalate stones significantly faster than distilled water and Rome tap water. In a 1999 follow-up of 614 stone patients (PMID 10528434), 55.9% who kept drinking Fiuggi water at home passed one or more stones within 6 months, vs 38.5% who stopped. Above 2 L/day, passage rose to 72%. Not a replacement for treatment, but the water has been documented for kidney stones since the 1300s and was sold in Italian pharmacies until recently.
